Naseeb Devika Baisakhi Dangal Champ

UDHAMPUR- Wrestler Naseeb Singh of Jammu and Kashmir Police won final bout in a wrestling match by defeating wrestler Vijay Kumar of Jammu in a tough 15 minutes contest held at the bank of sacred Devika rivulet Udhampur in the traditional Baisakhi Mela.
The wrestling match was organised by Mahant, Madan Lal Khajuria of Devika Shiv temple, Udhampur. The winner of the match was awarded Rupees 2, 100/- while the runner up was given Rupees 1, 100/- by the Superintendent of Police City, Rajeshwar Singh, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
Deputy Controller Civil Defense, Bodh Raj, Chairman and President Devika Baisakhi Mela committee, Advocate Surinder Khajuria and Advocate Swatanter Dev Kotwal representatives of NGOs, Sports lovers, prominent citizens and many spectators were present. In all 70 bouts were held during the wrestling match between 140 wrestlers of different districts.
Laxman Singh, Kuldeep Singh, Rajesh Sharma and Vijay Kumar drew repeated cheers from the crowd. This wrestling match is organised at every year on the concluding day of Devika Baisakhi Mela.
