Benia of JKP wins Reasi Mahadev Kesari Dangal

REASI: Wrestler Benia of Basantgarh of Jammu and Kashmir Police defeated Kaka of Amritsar in Punjab to lift the 25th Annual Reasi Mahadev Kesari dangal title held at Mahadev Reasi in district Reasi.

Dangal was organised by Mahadev Dangal Committee Reasi under the aegis of J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association. President of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma was Chief Guest, who presented title to Benia along with Rajesh Dogra. Sub Inspector Kamal Preet Singh and Diwan Chand were Guests of Honour.

In all, 46 bouts were played in this Dangal. The winner of 1st main bout Benia was awarded a cash prize of Rs 7,000 along with traditional Malli while Rs. 4,000 was given away to runners-up wrestler Kaka. In the second main bout, wrestler Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu defeated wrestler Sona of Amritsar while third main bout went to Onkar of BSF (Kashmir) of Kathuaw, who beat Bobari of Jammu. The fourth bout went to Mohammad Akram of Jammu, who beat Swarn Singh of Kot Bhawal Jammu.

Mahadev (Reasi) Dangal Committee members and technical officials who helped for conduct of the wrestling event were Rajesh Dogra, Devinder Sharma, Sanjay Dogra, Palwinder Singh, Joginder Singh, Pritam Singh, Rajinder Singh, Mohan Lal Bali, Yaswant Singh, Diwan Chand, Hazi Karam Din, Satish Kumar Tak, Capt. Lehar Singh (Retd.), Mohd. Fareed and Vijay Singh (Viju).

Other Results: Hossiar Singh of Mohare beat Lal Hussian of J and K Police, Ali of Jammu beat Bagga of Kot Bhawal, Murad Ali of Nagrota beat Billa of Amritsar, Parhald Singh of Kalakote beat Akram of Jammu, Jamat Ali of Jammu beat Gurdev Singh of Devigarh, Mohinder Singh of Ser- Suddian beat Naresh of Jammu, Amir Khan of Nargada Jammu beat Dalbir Singh of Mohare, Parveen Kumar of Udhampur beat Karnail Singh of Narkote, Laikat ali of Panthal beat Bir Singh of Reasi, Teg Singh of Pansa beat Javed Khan of Nagrota, and Pritam Singh of Talwara Reasi beat Gulzar of Pathankot.
