JAMMU: Wrestler Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla in Punjab bagged the Second Annual Bhadarwah Kesari Dangal, organised by Bhadarwah Development Authority and J and K Tourism Department in association with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Government Degree College Bhaderwah in district Doda.
In the main title bout, Gani trounced another Punjab wrestler, Kamaljot of Khanna. Winner Abdul Gani was presented a cash prize of Rs 15,000 by Chief Guest, Chief Executive Officer, Bhadarwah Development Authority, Kalyan Singh Parihar. While runners-up, Kamaljot got Rs 10,000 as prize money from President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who presided over the function.
Secretary Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Roshan Lal, Legal Advisor, Yash Paul Bakshi, ASP, Roop Lal Bhagat, Retd SP, P.R Sharma and SHO Surinder Rao were Guests of Honour.
In all, 27 bouts took place in this day-long Dangal which was part of the four-day Bhaderwah Festival. The second main bout went to Jakker Hussain of Sarore in Jammu, who beat Happy of Jullandhar.
Technical Officials who helped in successful conduct of this event were Mohd. Fareed, Showkat Wani. Master Prem Kumar and Shafqat Hussain (President Dangal Committee Bhadaarwah).
